Abstract Objective To study the effects of activation of death receptor signaling pathways on cell membrane in the process of apoptosis induced by ionizing radiation.Methods The BET-2 cells were radiated with 0、1、3、5、7、10Gy and divided into control group and caspase-8-specific inhibitor IETD-fmk-treated group.Apoptosis were measured by Annexin-V staining, caspase-8 and caspase-3 were determined at different time phases after irradiation.Results Apoptosis was induced and caspase-8 and caspase-3 were increased in a pattern of dose-effect and time-course after irradiation and decreased after treated with IETD-fmk partly.Conclusions Apoptosis was induced by activation of the death receptor signaling pathways on cell membrane after ionizing radiation directly.
