Abstract Objective To study the radiation protection of hemopoietic system of oligo-chitosan for mice injured by 60CO irradiation.Methods Using 60Co γ-ray irradiated mice,the influence of Oligo-chitosan on 30 d survival rate,mitotic index of marrow,colony-forming unit-spleen,index of spleen and nucleated cell count in bone marrow of the irradiated mice were observed.Results The results show that Oligo-chitosan could increase their 30 d survival rate;increase significantly MI and nucleated cell count in bone marrow at middle and high doses and CFU-S at high dose.Conclusion Oligo-chitosan could reduce the injury by radiation and protect hemopoietic system of radiated mice.
