Abstract Obejective To estimate α basic cost (αo) of radiological protection.Methods Using the method of GDP caculation in our country.Results From 1990 to 2000,αo increased from $336 to $981,an average increase of 11.98% a year.Conclusion In our country,the IAEA recommended cost ($3 000) can serve as α basic cost (αo) of radiological protection before it is achived.The ICRP recommended cost ($10,000~20,000) as a basic cost (d) of radiological protection when the IAEA is surpassed.IAEA is considered applicable for the developing countries and the recommended cost of ICRP for developed nations.
