Abstract Objective To investigate error and main cause of producing error on volume error of rebuild CT image on treatment planning system in three dimensional conformal radiation therapy,to provide important basis for selecting CT scanning condition,depiction of target area,working out treatment plan and accurate execution of three dimensional conformal radiation therapy,for reducing error,preventing happenchance of unskillful and faulty medical or surgical treatment and improving curativ effect.Method To scan the self-made phantom a on different CT scanning condition,the data is imported to TPS,to begin three dimensional rebuid,the volume of light,middle,small simulating tumour rebuid CT image is compared with the volume of simulating tumour.Results The difference in condition results in the difference in the rebuild CT image volume of treatment planning system.Conclusion The study may be used to direct selecting CT scanning condition,depiction of target area,working out treatment plan and accurate execution of three dimensional conformal radiation therapy.
