Abstract Objective To study the toxicity effects of ELF EMFs on the male reproductive system,we observe the effect of the ELF EMFs on the male rats'serum reproductive hormones exposed to different parameters and different contact time.Methods 100 healthy male adult rats are randomly divided into control and experimental group.The experimental rats are exposed to electromagnetic fields in accordance with the design requirements.After a period of time,we take the blood and control group rats respectively,and then take the serum after solidification.We use methods of radioimmunoassay (RIA) to detect the testosterone (T),estradiol (E2),follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),and so on.Results The serum concentration of T,E2,FSH,LH decrease,with exposing parameters and longer contact time.Conclusion The ELF EMFs influence the concentration of blood serum T,E2,FSH,LH of the adult rats,and cause the concentration of T,E2,FSH,LH to decrease for varying degree,affecting the adult male rats reproductively.
