Abstract Objective To understand indoor radon and γ exposure rate levels in Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of Hospital of Nanning City to estimate radiation doses of staff, and to provide a basis data for radiation protection management. Methods Using ATD radon monitors and FH40G environmental γ dose rate meter to measure radon concentration and γ dose rate indoor and outdoor. Results The staffs in Nuclear medicine, radiology underground and surface workplace, and residents affected by radiation doses are 1.98 mSv, 1.84 mSv, 1.62 mSv, 1.48 mSv and 1.49 mSv respectively. Conclusion The additional dose for Nuclear Medicine staffs related with radioisotopes majorly from the amount and the protective conditions. Radiology staff doses are mainly caused by the elevated radon contamination.
