Abstract Objective To study the effects of G-CSF on malignant transformation of Wistar rat lung cells irradiated with ⁶⁰Coγ ray.Methods MTT method, soft agar colony formation test and flow cytometry were used to investigate alteration of the growth, colony formation efficiency and cell cycle among control cells, cells irradiated with ⁶⁰Coγ ray singly, and cells treated with G-CSF continuously after irradiation of ⁶⁰Coγ ray.Result Compared with cells irradiated with ⁶⁰Coγ ray singly, G-CSF could inhibit cell growth (cells irradiated with ⁶⁰Coγ ray after pretreatment with G-CSF), delay the soft agar colony formation and reduce the cells entering cell cy cle.Conclusion G-CSF can slow doun the process of malignant transformation induce by ⁶⁰Coγ ray.
