Abstract Objective To study BALB/c mouse acte radiation skin damage caused by different doses of X-ray to provide experimental evidence for the establishment of animal acute radiation skin injury model in the fundamental research field. Methods Adopt Rs2000 biological X-ray irradiator which features high uniformity of dosage and safety to irradiate lower limbs of BALB/c respectively for 40、50、60 Gy, after the establishment of skin injury model, observe mice condition every five day and do injury severity score, and compare skin pathological changes of different mice through H&E staining. Results BALB/c mice are susceptible to radiation, the skin damage symptoms came to exist about 10 days after irradiation, skin of mice in 50、60 Gy groups did not deteriorate after 32 days, while skin damage was still continuing in 40 Gy group. Conclusion It was easier for BALB/c mice to accquire a better acute radiation-induced skin damage model at a dosage of 40 Gy.
